SHAPE of Ministry
Personal GROWTH
As part of the team, you are responsible for your own growth. If you grow the team will grow. Your team will only be as strong as you are. There are five areas in which you need to evaluate yourself and be intentional about using whatever you are for God’s glory.
S – Spiritual Gifts
H – Heart
A – Abilities
P – Personality
E – Experiences
· Spiritual Gifts –
You should have completed your spiritual gifts inventory by now. These are just indicators of your current spiritual gifts. Gifts multiply with use so don’t lock yourself into just these three. Problems with spiritual gifts: Gift-envy and Gift-projection
® Teamwork:
Discuss your three highest scores with each other.
How do others see those gifts in you?
In what areas do you see those strengths in yourself?
How will you each use your gifts in accomplishing your team goals?
Based on your gifts, who might be best at which jobs?
Does your team have gifts that didn’t show up on the inventory (remember it’s just a simple tool)?
· Heart – A God-given desire of the heart to make a difference somewhere.
® Teamwork:
What area of ministry involvement energizes you the most?
What do you find yourself doing repeatedly in different situations?
In what areas has your ministry been most fruitful?
What really burdens your heart (you lay in bed at night and think how to improve it, etc.)?
If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you do?
What seems to be your soap box topic?
· Abilities –God wants to use all of your abilities and talents in His cause.
® Teamwork:
Do the Abilities Worksheet?
How can your abilities be used in your team?
Based on abilities, who might be better at what jobs?
How could your abilities be used to enhance your outreach to the community?
· Personality
